The government of the municipality of Magdalena de Kino, Sonora has announced the dates for the annual “Fiestas de Octubre,” to be held in Magdalena de Kino, Sonora, Mexico.
This year’s fiestas will begin on Wednesday, September 28 and conclude on Sunday, October 9.
The main reason for the fiestas is to honor the town’s patron saint, Saint Francis Xavier, who is a much-revered religious figure in Magdalena and the region. Hundreds of pilgrims will walk to Magdalena from Nogales, Agua Prieta, Santa Ana and other Sonoran cities, to show their devotion and gratitude to San Francisco.
