Magdalena’s Temple Santa Maria Magdalena is located on the town’s main plaza, Plaza Monumental.
The beautiful church was built on the site of a mission church originally established by Jesuit Missionary Francisco Eusebio Kino.
The temple is a spiritual and cultural focal point for the community, where weddings and other significant events are held throughout the year.
A shrine to patron saint San Francisco Javier is located near the Temple Santa Maria, and is a popular site for visitors, especially during the fiestas held every year in October to celebrate Saint Francis Xavier.
